We believe in keeping things simple, transparent, and fair. Here’s everything you need to know about how Lemon Seeds works.
Membership
- Memberships may begin at any time and are billed monthly on the first of each month.
- Fees are prorated for mid-month starts.
- All members are enrolled in auto-pay through the opus1.io portal by default.
- A one-time $25 registration fee applies to all new students.
- An annual $25 materials fee is charged to all households each September.
Lesson scheduling
- Private lessons are 30 minutes, held at the same time each week, approximately 47 weeks out of the year.
- All lessons are held at 13427-B Madison Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107
- Email is our primary form of communication – please provide an email address that you check regularly and ensure emails from Lemon Seeds and opus1.io don’t go to spam.
Cancellations & make-ups
We know life gets busy. Here’s exactly how it works at Lemon Seeds:
- Cancel more than 24 hours ahead → make-up credit automatically generated for that month’s group session.
- Cancel less than 24 hours ahead → lesson forfeited, no exceptions.
- Make-up credits expire 45 days from the missed lesson and are limited to one per month.
- No refunds or monetary credits for missed lessons under any circumstances.
These policies exist to fairly compensate our teachers and protect your time slot.

- 10% late fee applies to invoices not paid within the five-day grace period.
- If payment has not been received by your first lesson of the month, that lesson will be forfeited and your spot temporarily removed from your teacher’s schedule.
Termination
Membership may be cancelled at the end of any month with written or verbal notice to Janessa no later than the 15th of that month. No refunds or credits will be issued for the current month.
Teacher matching
Students select their teachers at enrollment. If the match isn’t working, a switch may be requested and will be accommodated based on availability.
Communication
Communication with your teacher regarding lessons, materials, progress, etc. happens inside your opus1.io portal by expanding the “comments” section on your profile.
Communication with Janessa regarding billing, scheduling, and policies, etc. happens via email (lemonseedsmusic@gmail.com) or call/text (216.505.1153). You can expect a response within 3 business days.
